• Abstract: Trata-se de um estudo histoquímico e radioautográfico do epitélio de revestimento intestinal da cobra Xenodon Merremii. As células absortivas apresentam polissacarídeos neutros, arginina, tirosina, triptofano, cisteína, fosfatase alcalina, fosfatase ácida, ATPase, esterase e RNA. Existem diferenças histoquímicas entre as células caliciformes do intestino delgado e grosso. Enquanto no primeiro caso predomina polissacarídeos neutros e é encontrado arginina, tirosina, triptofano e cistepina; no segundo predomina polissacarídeos ácidos sulfatados (confirmado pela captação do enxofre radioativo) e não são encontrados aqueles aminoácidos.
