- Abstract: Leposoma percarinatum é uma das duas espécies de lagartos partenogenéticas da familia Gymnophthalmidae, onde apenas fêmeas são conhecidas até o momento. Neste artigo reportamos e descrevemos os primeiros machos encontrados da espécie, pertencentes a duas populações no noroeste da América do Sul. Com o intuito de testar a hipótese de que os machos encontrados pertencem à espécie L. perca‐ rinatum, comparamos a variação morfológica (15 caracteres merísticos e 10 categóricos, todos relevantes para a identificação de espécies do gênero Leposoma) encontrada em machos e fêmeas das duas populações bissexuais com exemplares de populações unissexuais ao longo da Amazônia. Não encontramos diferenças significativas na morfologia entre populações uni e bissexuais, a não ser aquelas decorrentes de dimorfismo sexual tradicionalmente conhecidas em lagartos. Adicionalmente, revisamos a literatura referente à origem da partenogênese em L. percarinatum e fornecemos algumas reflexões sobre este tópico, fruto do aparecimento de machos na espécie
